De-escalation & Situational Awareness Training

Incidents of violence in the workplace are increasing. To address this need, ResponseRise provide De-escalation & Situational Awareness Training, a specialised practical program designed to equip your team with necessary skills to handle un-cooperative, aggressive and difficult individuals in the workplace.

What Training Do We Offer?

Many roles require staff to interact with people on a daily basis. At times, those interactions may involve dealing with difficult, confrontational, abusive or aggressive individuals. Employees are frequently required to influence behaviour, enforce rules or stop actions that another person may not agree with. Whenever people interact, there is potential for conflict to occur. These situations not only create physical safety risks, but can also impact staff wellbeing, confidence and overall business operations.

Providing staff with the skills to safely, confidently and professionally manage challenging interactions is essential for any workplace. Rather than only focusing on de-escalation once a situation has already intensified, our training places strong emphasis on prevention and early intervention strategies. The goal is to reduce the likelihood of conflict escalating in the first place.

ResponseRise De-escalation & Situational Awareness training covers key areas such as identifying behavioural indicators and escalation cues of aggressive behaviour, understanding how humans react to confrontation, improving situational awareness, strengthening assessment and planning abilities, effective communication strategies, safe interaction techniques, and practical methods for managing difficult, abusive and aggressive behaviour.
